You really do have to try this recipe - despite the slightly counter-intuitive title, it's a deliciously sticky, tangy, crowd-pleasing family dinner. Also, super easy - watch our video, in which StuartMumsnet does a step-by-step. And do subscribe to our channel - loads more useful stuff in the pipeline - and like the vid if you, um, like it!

Sounds a bit sickly. "Subscribe" link doesn't work for me.

Chorizo slices & chilli jam on chicken is divine.

Thanks sharond101 - link corrected now (and I promise it's not sickly - more like a chinese-y tangy taste?)

RunDougal I agree that Stuart could easily have second career on Saturday Kitchen. Should he desire one Wink

Can anyone suggest a good side dish to go with this? I'm thinking of making it this evening, but can't think what veg would work. I am low-ish carb, so not doing rice like in the picture.

Thanks!

Thanks all. Super recipe this - I really wasn't sure to start with but it tastes amazing and I cooked it again over the weekend. We had it with salad and corn on the cob and it was lush.

After you marinade it do you remove it from the marinade to cook it?

Well, I saw them make banana stuffed chicken on tv today so I'm not surprised by raspberry jam!

hollyisalovelyname - yes, pull the chicken out of the marinade, and then pour what's left on top before you put it in the oven. Lining the dish is CRUCIAL unless you want to spend an hour removing carbonised sugar.

I made this yesterday. I do have the world's rudest fussiest DC, DD tasted a tiny bit of the sauce and refused to put any chicken in her mouth and DS had one tiny bit on a promise of ice-cream to follow but declared it "disgusting". Sad It's a pity as it was very easy to make, but tbh it wasn't really to my taste either.

I'll be trying some of the other recipes soon.

Can we ask Stuart which inductionhob that is please??? Looking for recommendations!!

PetraArkanian - I'm afraid I've no idea - it wasn't my kitchen, and it was my first go on an induction hob. Amazing thing though - in the next video you might spot my mild alarm as the chicken I was cooking starts to look as if it was about to set fire to my head reach the perfectly cooked golden hue I was aiming for a little bit quicker than I'd anticipated...

Will see if I can find out for you. Smile
