Morning folks,

A quick heads-up. Some of you (particularly those of you who put in the hours testing the recipes Grin) may recall that we've been working on a Mumsnet cook book of your favourite, foolproof family recipes for some time now.

Well it's being published by Bloomsbury on Thursday 8th June and you can buy a copy of it over on Amazon.

Thanks again for all your help with the book - it literally (and we mean that literally) wouldn't exist without you. And if you're after a warm glow, check out what no less a kitchen superstar than Yotam Ottolenghi had to say about it:

"Family recipes - tried and tested... and tested... and tested - win hands down in any tasting competition I have ever attended. This book is an ultimate collection of such winners: reliable, useful and, most importantly, completely delicious."

ANOTHER UPDATE: We've added another video of the lovely RebeccaMumsnet demo-ing which we ate and was utterly delish.

UPDATE: We got the lovely RebeccaMumsnet to try her hand at the - see the (rather good) results for yourself...

The Mumsnet family cookbook is now out!

Im sure we could get them for free if we do a search or two! Grin

Im definitely on the using side rather than the contributing side to this book. Smile Smile

Does it have usernames attached to recipes? I like the idea of forever associating apple crumble to someone's username. How pleasing would it be to mentally rename a poster Spotted Dick or nasty kebabs Grin

I looked at the 14 recipes today in the Times and thought they were excellent. Tasty looking dishes that seemingly don't take ages to cook and that contain everyday ingredients.

Justine, you're looking fab as usual in that pic.

Like Overtired I'm interested to know if usernames are attached to the recipes in the book, as they weren't in the ones featured in the Times pullout today.

What I saw in The Times this morning livened up an hour of soft play tedium.

Looks fab and I have every "family" cookbook known to man.Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.

Next weeks meals are sorted.Grin

No, usernames not to be found in the book except for those of the testers. You'll be able to find some of these recipes pretty much as is on the site but often the recipes are a mishmash of a few or quite heavily adapted following feedback and testing (so it's definitely worth buying the book Wink).
(and thank you Southeastdweller - very nice of you to say so Thanks)

It will be half price or less at Waterstone's, Amazon and supermarkets.

Worked in book trade and can guarantee this.

Ooh exciting that the book is all done, I tested a chicken and bacon recipe! Smile

onetiredmummy there are recipes on the site which I always think of with the poster's username. The Vicky sponge I bake is not just any sponge, it is slubberdgullions prize winning sponge! Grin yum

Also when I make swede on the micro (cut it all around the middle then zap, then remove the flesh from the skin & mash with butter nutmeg and pepper) I give thanks to MammaTJ

I'll buy it on offer if I see it, but £20 is too steep for me.

Is it worth buying for a family of vegetarians? How many meat free recipes are there?
