How much should I take to office buffet?

really don't know how much to take. It's one of those leaving dos where everyone signs up to bring a contribution.

There's about 32 people I think and I've signed up for chicken.

To bring 32 chicken drumsticks isn't right is it? (and also ££££)

So, I'm thinking, I'll do chunks of chicken tikka. But how much??

Take a meal's worth of food, but in chicken obviously, i.e. the amount one person could eat if it was different kinds of food. If 32 people do this you will get 32 meals' worth of food.

ok, so, a plateful of chicken tikka, like maybe two pounds of chicken?

I'd take a couple of chickens worth, chicken is popular, people may want more than 1 chunk each.

2 packages of skinless chicken breasts. Roast, slice thinly, arrange on bed of watercress, pour over coronation sauce (curry paste, mayo, thin with boiling water from the kettle). My go-to buffet 'bring-a-dish', er, dish...

I take your point about crisps Grin much cheaper!

tbh, I just wanted to make sure there was something low carb on the table, so I'm selfish really.

Right, I have 3 x 350g packs of chicken breasts. That's enough isn't it?

It would be fiddly, but could you cube it all, fairly small, and make little kebabs on cocktail sticks? That way you'd end up with a lot of kebabs from your chicken.

What we do is to get a couple of the rotisery chickens from sainsburys and then cut up into bits. Nice and warm for the buffet and everyone like them.

I've been trying but failing to find a recipe I had for cooking time but not very long - 15 mins I think. Cube raw chicken, coat in pesto (easiest done in a bag), then roll in breadcrumbs and bake. Makes the chicken go further and is delicious.

ach. I'd already bought some chicken breast pieces when I posted. all random sizes thank you M&S.

I've roasted them in tikka paste. They're shit. Too much marinade. And DP thinks they're dry.

But there' a good pile. hopefully folk will concentrate on the crisps and cake.

it's probably not as dry as you think, but would a spoonful or two of plain yoghurt stirred in maybe help?
