food for a bring and share party outside tomorrow?

we are having a street party tomorrow and I had been planning to bring my famous potato salad but I'm worried about it being sat outside all day on the hottest day of the year!
Any ideas of what would be good to take along - was thinking cheese straws but I need some other ideas too - nothing with mayonnaise, cheese, cream etc and vegetarian (just to make things more awkward Grin).
Thanks in advance Smile

Chop up a melon and take some strawberries. My favourite part of picnics anyway!

Some kind of flavoured bread? - chrese-free pizza, garlic bread, onion bread, tomato bread, roasted veg focaccia??

Pasta salad made with a tomato & veg or olive sauce?

Rice salad?

I'd have suggested watermelon and feta salad, but you said no cheese.
How about lots of nice olives, some bread and some oil and vinegar for dipping?
Or some little quiches made in jam tart trays (cheese again) or some vegetarian scotch eggs, if you're up for a bit of faffing.
Or some hoummus, tsatziki, maybe an aubergine dip, and pitta bread?

thanks all - the bread thingh is a good idea. I have some recipes (and maybe even some packet mixes..... Grin). I also wimped out and bought frozen veggie sausage rolls. Pakoras and samosas will be amply and much more tastily provided by my neighbours!
