Right, I've succumbed to try this. I have a few questions. Ham is gammon right? Blush (I've never bought it before so unsure) What size do I need to get? Which coke works best? How exactly do I do it?

Actually looking forward to trying this Grin

Thank you :)

Buy a gammon joint a bit smaller than the pot you want to use. And full fat coke is good as the sugar goes nice! Smile Just boil away according to the packet instructions and let it cool in the liquid.
Hubby usually does this so I may have missed something. Hmm

Thanks, salcz. Can I do it in the slow cooker? I'll use full fat coke.

Yes, it can be done in the slow cooker. Apparently, it's really nice.

How long do I put it in the slow cooker for? Do I just put the ham in, pour in coke and cook then it's done? Thanks all :)

Ham coke (sugar as well although not really needed) 8hrs plus in slow cooker. Really nice if you take it out shred it add BBQ sauce and put back in for a hour to.

I think I've gone wrong Confused I've bought a bacon joint as it was on 3 packs of meat for £10. Is that pretty much the same?

Pretty much the same. Bung in slow cooker with coke and leave alone!

Once it's done, make gravy with the coke left behind. It's brilliant!

I'll have to do that next time if it turns out ok Wink

I've just checked on it and it doesn't seem to be anywhere near ready to shred Confused It's really tough. I've turned it onto high and hoping it'll work.
