I have sugar. I have ham. I have a slow cooker. But I have no faith. It won't work will it. I will be left with a burnt out slow cooker and inedible ham.

Explain it to me. Words of one syllable. Really no water at all. Sugared water, I could accept.

Please?

No water at all.

The ham has water in it, it will leak out.

I did it yesterday.

Bung the ham in the slow cooker, chuck some brown sugar over the top, turn it on, wait for ages.

You'll be left with some hammy water in the bottom that is a good base for soup.

Do you turn the ham? Do you have to sear it first?

When you say ham, is a little gammon too salty?

What kind of soup do you make?

Thank you. Does it have to be brown sugar? I only have white.

No water? What? I wouldn't do that in my slow cooker!

Pour a can of coke over it and then leave it for 7 hours.

I was going to say can of coke too Coconutty

You don't need to add water, there is water in the ham.

I use a "gammon joint".

I've done this. Brown sugar, no water, absolutely fine.

But it tasted rank and I'll never do it again.
