is it possible?? if so, how long will it stand/keep without going solid and horrid??

Oops, accosted by DS1 & pressed send!
I sometimes cook rice maybe 1/2 an hour ahead of time. I find pouring boiling water over it before serving tends to 'unsticky' it.
