Can someone inspire me with breakfast ideas?

Dcs currently have cereal and/or toast - very occasionally something with eggs. Very very occasionally pancakes.
Does anyone have anything interesting (preferably easy and quick!) ideas that they use for breakfast time? I'm very bored of it at the minute...!

I measure out 40g per person of oats into a big jug, cover with milk and then microwave for a few mins until preferred consistency. Add some blueberries or chopped banana or honey etc and bob's your uncle! Quick, cheap and healthy porridge. Smile

You can make crumpets (or pikelets if you don't have the rings) quite easily but best to make a batch at the weekend then freeze. I made them when DD was tiny as bought ones have so much salt in!

You can also make drop scones / American pancakes in batches and freeze too.

Sorry they aren't that quick though!

I got toastabags for christmas and they say you can make eggy bread in them in the toaster...

I do continental style breakfast - toast or roll with cheese, salami/chorizo/ham, fruit, and yoghurt if still hungry. quick but fills them up and as long as you vary the meats, cheeses and fruit it doesn't get too boring.

sometimes I do oatcakes, peanut butter and banana.

eggs with ham and toast are good as well.

At the moment I'm loving granola served on a dollop of natural yoghurt. Just as quick as cereal!

DH likes an omelette for breakfast. Filled with ham or cheese or leftover vegetables.
I have porridge.
DD likes cereal and some fruit and sometimes toast.

various bread/toast (such as raisin bread) and occasional mini pain au chocolats. Hovis scotch pancakes toasted.

Smoothies (when on special offer)

Occasionally stewed fruit such as rhubarb or apple.

Chopped fruit or tinned fruit with or without yogurt.

Granola cereal ideally with plain yogurt.

my dds like yeo valley natural yogurt with a swirl of honey on the top.

Milky drink such as cocoa. teaspoon of cocoa, tiny bit of sugar, top up with hot milk.

Porridge, I like it with various toppings such as sprinkle of dessicated coconut or raisins or syrup.

i have started to spend more onbreakfast tbh, when dds were little I would end up having quick rice krispies or similar, then eat loads of cheap biscuits at toddler groups!

I love beans on toast for a quick, warming breakfast.
Keeps you full and one of your 5 a day.

We recently bought a Krups waffle maker. Makes delicious quick waffles. You can make up the batter and leave in fridge overnight - in fact, its better to do that

I occasionally have creamy mushrooms on toast (don't know if your DCs will eat mushrooms, but you might like it). Boil mushrooms in about 1/3 pint of veg stock, for a few minutes til stock reduces to about 1 tbsp. Mix in a dollop of Philadelphia cream cheese (or similar). Gorgeous on toast. And probably fairly healthy.
