Recipe to rescue a dry beef stew

I left it in the slow cooker too long and the meat was too lean so it reduced to chunks of hard chewy meat. The overall taste is ok.

What to do with it? Blend it and call it soup? Rescue it in some other way? Give it to the dogs if all else fails?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Mince it up in the food processor.

Chop some garlic and onions and cook in a reasonably generous amount of oil (or better still dripping) until soft. Add minced up dead stew and stir around a bit. Add tin of tomatoes and some wine and leave to simmer until all is amalgamated into a saucy texture. Add a few spoonfuls of cream.

Use as a pasta sauce or put soem mashed potatoes on top as shepherd's pie

Sorry- just seen date on your message. Stew is probably already in dog

Thank you! Stew is lingering in freezer so it's certainly not too late Grin
