I have just made some food for my 14 month old baby son. I made 4 portins but i added a stock cube and half a tin of soup. Which both include salt ..........i worried that i have over done it with the stock cube and maybe i should not give this food to my son as it may harm him. Please advise.

As long as your not feeding him meals with salt in evry night i would think a one off would be fine. Salt can be bad in anybodys diet and can kill adults if eaten to often. AS long as you dont give him high levels of salt evry day he will be fine. I asked my mum about this a while ago and she laughed and said she always fed us the same as what she was eating and i turned out ok. Some foods do contain high levels of salt, i try to avoid them but its hard to cut them out altogether.

by 14 months they can eat pretty much ANYTHING an adult may eat.... except with the advice of not adding extra... or cooking with salt...

you are ibvioulsy very careful and therefore the small amounts of salt that have occured will be fine!

Dont worry

(if you had added lots of salt for YOUR taste bud that would be different tho)

Children over 1 CAN have a small amount of salt
