Hi,
I had PND after both my dc were born. Dd is 2 (3 in Sept), and I was on Citro...something! I was taken it from dd being 3/4 months, till dd was about 9/10 months. I then came off them myself. Doctor didn't know, as I was feeling so much better.

Since then, I have been keeping myself busy ( a sign that occured during the PND I had before). I have never felt 100%. If I am on my own doing nothing, I feel so low - hence keeping busy with work/university/children etc.

Something happened on Sunday evening, which has seemed to know my mental state back by a huge amount.

Any idea? BTW, since dd was born, I have been using the implant contraceptive. Could this be effecting me?

The drug may have been citalopram

It could well be the hormones it may just be this is a difficult time for you or depression. you do need to talk to your GP or HV. Were you offered something other than drugs? It maybe you find something like CBT/talking therapies help and could be worth asking about

Thanks for responding (and for the bump)!

It feels as if it is coming back iykwim, but not as if it truly went.

I don't want to be told I still have PND. Been so strong recently, maybe that is part of it. Always a smiley face, but feel as if I am crying inside at times.

Trip down the Dr.s I think then.

Yep probably a good idea may be worth ringing your HV too they often have PND groups and it is good to know you are not the only one.

If you are interested in CBT there are at least free online sites (face to face is usually better but can be a wait for it)

www.moodgym.anu.edu.au

Be good to your self.
