Wanting to run away

Hi there, I have a 15 month old son and 3 stepsons and have recently been diagnosed with PND. I have been taking a low dose of Citalopram for 4 weeks now but am still not feeling great. I wake up very early feeling very anxious and unable to face the day. I have a lovely DH, the best but have an overwhelming desire to leave him, live on my own and hide from the world. I feel so narked with him for no reason and think I'd be best on my own. I am finding it so hard to engage with him.
Has anyone else experienced this? how long before these tablets really get going!

Many Thanks

Catty

They should be just about to start working within the next few weeks. I have absolutely experienced that need to run away and leave it all behind, hold on! I'm sure there'll be someone with proper advice along soon.

Catty
i have PND aswell and just started CBT yesterday. i have the same feelings as you and they are awful, like my life is falling apart and things spiral out of control. you need to talk things through. can you pinpoint what is making you anxious when you wake up? i started my tablets about 10 weeks ago and am going to have to go back to get them reviewed as i am not sure they are working, i do feel a little better but not a lot better x

Thank you, Have been thinking about both your posts and think that the need to run away is to find some time and space for myself which is very hard to do at times, but is vital, there are too mny demands on me. Thank you for your responses, I think depression is sometimes trying to tell us something about we live our lives.
