Hi all,

It's a question for the ladies who went throught an abortion like me. I had a medical abortion a month, the fact that this has happened has just sunk in in my head and I'm feeling terrible...nobody in rl knows how I feel. Apart from feeling like this in my head I have another problem..every morning I wake up with cramps in lower part and this makes me scared..what if there are still some tissues inside me ? Or maybe I'm just paranoid and it's normal to have some pain. I dont know.

I can't remember if I had much physical pain after my abortion, I think I did for a few days but I don't think it can have been very severe or I would remember. Even so, a month seems like a long time to still be in pain following the procedure, have you seen a doctor since you had the abortion? I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so bad I remember it being a very sad and difficult time for me. Have you had any counselling for this?

If you want to talk to someone in confidence you could find a centre by looking here. They also offer an on-line service and post-abortion counselling.

Swaliswan · 20/02/2008 10:28

BTW, their services are completely free.

Yes wineistheway, it's me ! Feeling numb, so many ladies seem to be in the same situation as I was and they choose to keep thier baby and I didnt..I'm feeling guilty and I find it difficult to talk to DH. I dont want him to think I want to be a martyr ! Thanks swalisman !

definitely go to the docs

a course of metronizadole should see you right!

bless you, it is ok to feel like this.. sometimes it takes a while to sink in..

let it all out, no good trying to hold your feelings in ,they will only burst out later

be kind to yourself, you have been through a lot x

Thanks lulu, you are always so kind ! I'm going to the doc tomorrow...I guess I fear that he's going to tell me I have bad infection in my uterus or something that's why I'm so scared.

if it was bad, you would know about it.... honestly, a few days of antibiotics should be fine

if you are in pain, take some painkillers. maybe a wheatbag on your tummy to help ease the pains?

((((((((hugs)))))))))

You are right, if it was so bad, I would have fever, nasty pain..yes you are right, a couple of painkillers will do ! Thanks lulu !

Poor you- that's a traumatic thing to go through by any standards.

I had an ERPC in 2006 on a missed miscarriage of a 12 week foetus, and had pain and bleeding for about six weeks. The very though of aving to go and get it investigated and have a whole load more people shining torches ip there made me feel faint, so I just left and hoped for the best. It stopped in the end (the pain took longer to go than the bleeding as I remember).

What seemed to help (don't know if there really is any correlation though) was taking high does fish oil and vits B complex.
