prozac and weight loss.....

has anyone had this happen? I put on a lot of weight when pregnant and since being on venlafaxine i haven't been able to shift it? I've been advised to switch to prozac as they think i have ocd with the depression.

Weight loss is listed as a side affect i was just wondering if anyone had actually experienced it and whether it was a reduced appetite or something else?

i lost weight on prozac.not really sure why,i personally put it down to feeling better and not comfort eating.

i am on venlafaxine now as the prozac stopped working,and am finding it impossible to shift the last 7lb of baby weight which had been coming off steadily after the birth(baby is 8 months now).theres loads of stuff on the net about venlafaxine causing weight gain,even though its said to cause weight loss.

anyway,good luck.hope the prozac helps

Having been on quite a few ad, I take a maintainance dose of prozac. I was recovering from anorexia and it helped stimulate/regulate my appetite. This seems to be a popular ad for treating eating disorders. Personally I have found it really good and wish you well!

snoo snoo i found that i actually felt revenous on the venlafaxine and have found it impossible to lose any weight even with the help of xenical - sorry!!! but everyone is different so hopefully that subborn 7lb will disappear soon

finger crossed i ge the weight loss side affect off the prozac - i normally get most of the worst side affects listed on meds

I lose weight on prozac. I am now taking mitrazipine and they have done the opposite.

I think I prefered the prozac!

I found that the prozac made me feel too sick to eat at the beginning and I suffer a lack f appetite now. You know that 'i really fancy a bar of choc/crisps/pie etc' feeling. I dont get it, and I eat to give me energy but dont enjoy it.
