Anyone else had Lustral?

Im going back to my GP's tommorow, I hate going and find it hard to say how bad i'm feeling without turning into a sobbing wreck.
I am hoping she will give me Lustral as this has worked brilliantly for me in the past.

I usually let the way i am feeling go on for months and months and don't go the see my GP until i'm at breaking point, does anyone else do this?

I like to think that I will start to feel better of my own accord but it never happens.

Has anyone overcome depression without being on AD's forever?

Sorry not much of a post, just had to write it down.

hi hoolagirl

i know exactly where u r coming from. I forever put off going to doctors, finding a car park space and waiting with a baby and 4 yr old is enough to dissuade me from going. But i know i should as i have felt depressed for fair few months now.

am sure she will give u lustral. unfortunately i am probably not most inspirational one to say that yeah depression is possibe to overcome. i have been on and off AD for most of my adult life (am 35). At mo am bf so refuse until have stopped that. i did try lustral, prozac, seroxat and sertraline. found prozac and lustral to be most effective for me.

Maybe it is my way of dealing with it but i seriously think some people are more likely to suffer depression than others and we are just predisposed to it. loads of people will probably think that is perhaps defeatist. i have tried exercising which does help but still get so low and like yourself feel like breaking point. got tired of talking over same stuff abt family, past etc with counsellors although again it helped to some degree and can work brilliantly for others. Did you try that?

I really hope it goes ok at doctors. Let me know.

Hi thanks for replying.

Got AD's and started taking them this morning, feel a lot less anxious already.

Doc said that in some people the hormore level just drops (is she talking about that happy hormone?) and there is no reason (that they know about) for it.

Only shed a couple of tears at the doc's but think that was amazingly good for me.

Feeling a bit more positive, have to go back and see her in 3 weeks, wasn't offered any councelling, but really don't have any issues etc to talk through.
