hi i have been very depressed since my second son was born 5 months ago. i had deopression after my 1st son and went on ads but found they made me very un aware of things. i dint want to be like that this time around so i have tried st johns wort. Although i feel better with my son i still feel down and tend to go loopy sometimes. i also seem to panic at the end of the day thinking my partner isnt going to come home. is it better going on proper drugs or should i start counciling

How long have you been on them? They do say it takes a few weeks of continual use for them to take effect. I used them years ago and would notice my mood change even if i just missed 1! I always rave about them for anyone who needs a bit of a pick me up. Perhaps if things have gone a bit further and you feel you have depression rather than just down days, then you should seek some advice from Dr. Good luck and hope you feel better soon

Counselling is good, though, if you can get a good counsellor - at its best it can equip you to deal with problems if they arise in the future. If you have access to it I would say go for it.
Doesn't rule out St John's Wort too though.
