My DH is away for a week. I am finding it difficult to settle at night - have taken to wandering round the house, can't concentrate on TV or books. To make matters worse, my daytime routine has been upset as well because I can't see my mates who have kids same age as DD because I think DD is incubating chicken pox at moment! NOrmally I don't mind if DH has to go away as it's only one or two nights at most, and during the day it (until now) has been fine as i'm just doing all my normal things. I find the last hour before DD's bedtime hard as he's normally here to help, but it's the ridiculous wandering about I'm doing that I can't understand. I'm feeling quite sort of uptight and stressed as well... weird! Sorry to ramble just getting it off my chest. Upside is I've started posting on MN more as I've lurked for ages and been too shy to post til now

Hi Peggotty, hope last night was ok (another night ticked off before dh comes home!)

How is dd today, any sign of chickenpox?

how can you tell if she is incubating it? honestly, I would just get out and about - you can't stay inside every time you think your child may have something!

my dh has been away for what seems like ages and is back for a bit then off again ggrrr. I understand that restless feeling - but you need to find something on TV to watch or a book to read - preferably something that you don't normally get to watch! Have a long bath or sky plus something to watch later on.

Try and think of all the things that you don't normally do when dh is around (like I often eat with the kids which means I don't need to cook later on again) and try and really enjoy them!
