Increasing fluoxetine from 20mg to 40mg

I've been taking 20mg everyday for almost 2 years now but I'm starting to feel like I need more. I doubled my dose this morning but I'm not sure I should just double the dose straight away or alternate days for a while. Can't get to see gp for a few weeks.

I did this recently, as far as I can remember I think it was recommended to take one in the morning and one in the evening, rather than both together? I'd check with that NHs none emergency number though (111). As mine might have been like that for a specific reason.

As an aside, given the length of time you've been on it I don't think it will be dangerous for you to go straight up to 40 everyday.

It's not a problem, but you'll need to discuss with your GP otherwise your prescription won't last you

I'm booked to see gp on 3rd sept so my tables should last till then

it should be ok for you to just double the dose but then you should see your GP to confirm
