What do you do if you think you might be heading towards being depressed?

I'm feeling flat, sad, irritable and worried that I'm heading for depression.
I think I had some pnd after ds (traumatic emcs) but it was never diagnosed or treated, I think it just lifted with time.

We are trying to sell our house - another sale has fallen through. :( I'm getting anxious about it and often wake in the night with rising panic feelings about it.
We moved to a new city before Christmas. We don't know anyone here. I'm missing my old friends. I am getting out to groups with the kids and chatting to people but obviously making friends takes time. So I feel lonely at times.
I've also recently started cerazette. I've read online LOTS of horrible stories about how it affects moods etc. feeling down has coincided with starting taking it.
My period starte today so feeling lousy/ moody from that.

I really dont want to slide into similar to the pnd but I do feel down.

What do you do to help lift you or stop you sliding into depression?

TIA :)

I personally find that exercise helps. Getting out and getting some fresh air about my gills.

If you're not into that, can you invite one of your old friends through to spend a weekend with you?

If you're missing your friends, can you arrange to Skype them?

Re: night wakings, try keeping a pen and paper next to your bed. Write down what panicky thoughts you're having then you know you can think about them again in the morning. Alternatively, when you waken up and read them you might realise you were getting things out of proportion. (I do this a LOT at night.)

I could have written this postHmm I've just moved as well, left all my friends and family, my husband is out of the house 13 hours a day and I've got 3 children. I'm slowly making friends at baby groups, but just for chats whilst I'm there, not enough to swop numbers or anything.
I'm going to see the doctor this week, as I know my PND has come back. Very lethargic but not sleeping, only doing the basics to get by, no interest in anything, not being able to concentrate and crying at stupid little things.

I hope you feel better soon x

I have set up visits with friends from old place but obv they're not for a little while.
I skyped with them last week but it just made me miss them more. :(

I'm exercising much more than previously. I do Pilates once a week, walk to/ from preschool daily and walk to activities for dc's (15-20mins each way)

I just feel so meh :(
