Fasting / 5:2 diet

Fasting on consecutive days

Sorry if there is already a thread about this.

I have done the fast diet before and it did work however I got out of the swing of things and I am now restarting.

I know it is advised not to fast on consecutive days but is there a reason for this? I did a fast yesterday (only had lunch as wasn't feeling great in the evening and had no appetite) and I am just not hungry today either.

Could I just run my two fast days together?

I checked what was suggested on Michael Mosley's website:

Do the fast days have to be non-consecutive?

The short answer is that it doesn’t matter. Some people prefer doing two days back to back, others prefer to split ie Mondays and Thursdays

I've started 5:2 by doing back-to-back FDs (Sunday and Monday), but aiming for around 600 cals each day rather than trying to get under 500. So far I find it works for me, 3 weeks in and I feel full of energy, sleep well and have a good appetite (but not excessive) on NFDs so can eat up to my TDEE on those days.
