Fasting / 5:2 diet

TDEE under 2000 cals: how many on a fast day?

I started 5:2 a few weeks ago and it seems to be going well (I don't have scales - but my clothes seem loser).

I've been reading on here about TDEE and mine is around 1900. Should I be having less than 500 calories on a fast day?

Do you all try and stick to your TDEE on a nfd?

stick with 500 : it makes it simpler.
My TDEE is now only 1500 and when I'm losing weight I stick to 500 on FD

and yes, if you do not stick to an average of your TDEE on normal days, you'll get / stay fat

I suggest to people to see what their TDEE will be at their ideal weight and roughly aim for that

TDEE drops as you get older : a 70 year old needs 1/3 less calories than a 20 year old of the same height and weight

Thanks a lot. Every calorie counts in a fast day - so I think I'll stick to 500, it seems to be working.

I've only got half a stone to lose - so there isn't too much difference between the two. There also seems to be a variation depending on which calculation is used - so I'll take the average.

Thanks again.
