Can I share?

I have tried so many different diets over the years and never succeeded. I was almost 12 stone at 5 foot 6. Then I discovered 5'2 and as you can see in my profile pic - it worked! So stick at it - it's amazing! I am so thankful everyday that I discovered a permanent, sustainable way of eating.

You look fab. Completely agree, so good that 5:2 is sustainable. 1 year in for me and I've never looked back. (I'm maintaining it didn't take a year to get to target for anyone reading this and getting disheartened)

Well done OP, I cant link to profile pic. How much have you lost, and how long did it take? Did you calorie count on non fast days?

Thanks I've lost two stone and it took about six months. I don't calorie count on eating days, but I do more fast days to boost weight loss if I over do it. My appetite reduced naturally too.

Well done, I'm thinking of trying it but not sure how it works?
I have some slim n save packs left which I thought I could use for fast days or do you need to eat specific things? Confused

hoppingmad don't see why not as long as you don't exceed 500 cals.

The best things to eat on fast days are veggies - you get more bang for your buck! Smile

And avoid carbs - save them for NFDs.

Have a look through the 5:2 recipe thread for loads of fast day recipe ideas.

As to how it works - well, it works because you never feel deprived. The mantra is that you can always have it - whatever 'it' is - tomorrow! Smile

Wow you look amazing and you did it so quickly.
I've been doing it for about five months and am 5'7" and have gone from 10.13 to about 10.1 (lowest of 9.12) so far less impressive weight loss than you. Put on about four pounds on holiday recently so am just trying to get back on track from that.
I'm not sure I can below 9.12, always seems to get stuck. Which is an improvement on other post-children diets where I got stuck on 10.2, but still.
Am fasting today. Bloody hate it. This is the best diet in the world for 5 days of the week, the worst for the other two...
