I was shocked. This is probably a fairly typical day for me Blush though i definitely was more hungry. I am not grossly overweight (within top of BMI) and it remains fairly stable but I just want to lose the post baby stone.

I was strict about my cals on fast day but will I still lose weight? I know I am meant to stick to 2000 but at the same time don't want to feel deprived on feast days as this defeats the object IMO. I need some encouragement!

I did this after my first fd too!
After the second though I found I just didn't want/couldn't eat as much - as I understand it it's about retraining your body and it takes time.
Im a new starter but my experiences so far and research has led me to think that this diet doesn't seem to be a quick fix unless you are cal counting on nfds too, but that it's a way of life - and it may take a while to get used to it - but I don't count on my nfds and am losing. I do listen to my body though and stop when full.

I did this yesterday, and I've been fasting since September. But the lure of a nice pint in a sunny beer garden after a crap day at work was too strong.....

It happens, don't worry about it.

this 'diet' sounds awful.....feasting?? eat as much as you like?

It's not meant to be 'feasting', the original authors never said anything of the kind. It's just that the media and others have decided 'feast' goes well with 'fast', which is the actual concept.

Fast twice a week, eat normally the other days. If your 'normal' intake is 2500 calories, then you're not likely to lose weight very quickly. Depends on your current weight and activity levels, of course.

If you stick around the forums a while, you'll see, most people who've been doing this a while will fast a couple of days a week, eat 'lower calorie' another day or two, to balance out maybe having a night out over the weekend. We all find a way that works for us.

GreenEggs, I absolutely don't intend to lower my calorie intake on the other days! The idea is not to follow a low calorie diet but to eat as our ancestors did; gorge then fast. Obviously, as our fast only lasts a few hours, the 'gorge' is reduced. Otherwise you're just following a low calorie eating plan - which was not the point and is unlikely to offer the health benefits.

Actually, despite my 2500 calories I did lose 2llbs.

Thanks Cat and Piece for your encouragement.
