Sterization with pcos

I've not had a period in 10 mths, my overies are full of cysts. Myself and dh don't want any more dc. If I was sterilised how would it affect my pcos if at all?

I believe you need an Oophorectomy to make a difference, so a hysterectomy only removes the uterus but an Oophorectomy removed the ovaries too.

The reason I would have it done is for family planning as I know pcos is hormonal and removing the overies wouldn't cure me. I currently have no symptoms other than no periods.

Female sterilisation involves blocking the fallopian tubes (by cut/tie or clip).

It's not a hysterectomy and nothing is done to either uterus or ovaries. I don't see how I could make ayn difference to PCOS or its symptoms.

Sorry, must have misinterpreted, thought when you said you ovaries were full of cysts this was also causing an issue. Would your GP not be able to recommend a procedure? I am in the opposite boat - facing laparoscopic ovarian drilling for another baby but my GP went through all the options for pcos with me and I remember her suggesting the Oophorectomy if I felt I was done with pregnancies.
