Is it bad to have been on the pill for 10 years?

I've been on the pill for 10 years but had 3 children in between that. I'm on cerezette now. I'm wondering if its bad to have been on contraceptives for so long as I know it increases your risk if breast cancer. Should I find something else ?

I'm in same situation. I'm 40 and been them since age 16 - about 4 years for birthing. (microgynon). I asked my doc who said aslong as you are a non smoker and not overweight you can stay on them as long as you want.

Have any of your relatives had bc? (increases risk). Did you breast feed? (lowers risk). Do you wear underwire bras? (increases risk) Did you have your first child at a young age? (lowers risk). Are you a veggie? (lowers risk).

I'm staying on them as i'm in a low risk group anyway.

I'm overweight :( I'm on cerezette. Had first child at 21, no breast cancer in family , I'm breastfeeding my third DC , I do wear under wire bras as I'm big chested.

I'd chat with your gp about it then. My friend has a coil and she swears by it!
