Long, heavy periods on mini pill - change brand?

Hi all,

I've been on Noriday for about 6 months but getting increasingly heavy and prolonged periods, which means I'm pretty much two weeks on, two weeks off. I'm just waiting for my blood results on suspected anaemia as I'm not well at all and wondered if a change of brand might lessen the bleeding? Any experience of this? I know this can be a side effect of the mini pill generally but I know there are different types. I can't take the combined pill, BTW. Thanks!

Oh also, would being more rigid with timing help? ie setting an alarm and taking it at exactly the same time each day as opposed to just within the three hour window? Any experience of this?

I had fortnightly periods with micronor and femulen and NO periods with cerazette. It would be worth trying a different one as they can all have different effects. Cerazette has a 12 hour window as well so there is more leeway with it.

Ooh thanks! Now you mention it, I think I've been on Micronor before (ages ago) that rings a bell. And I certainly didn't have this problem then. I wasn't a mum then either, and that can change things too. Will ask GP.
