Copper coil problems - poss tmi!

I've had my copper coil fitted since November last year.

My first 2 periods were really really heavy, but settled down ok.

For the last 3 months or so I have been getting a week of brown gunk before my period and the same gunk for almost a week after. So I've only got one week when I can go without a pad/tampon. Not ideal.

This month and a couple of months ago I have had a weird discharge in my clear week. Its kind of like excess cervical mucous but with streaks of dark pink blood in it. Its usually only when I wipe, but does go on to a pad rarely too.

I had a swab last months for BV which was clear.

I really don't know what's going on. Did a pg test this week just incase - negative.

Have any of you heard of this happening before, or had it yourself?

Also, I have slight cramping on and off, and have pcos and fibroids.

I'm thinking the coil is going to need to come out - could it be an infection? The coil moving out of place?

Thanks :)

Is it really stinky? I read that some people got a strange discharge with a foul smell.

Hhhmmm....the discharge last month had a bit of a whiff, hence the swab for BV. It was clear for that though.

I had an appointment at the GP well woman clinic at the end of the month, but called today and managed to get a cancellation for tomorrow at 5pm - I think I'll get them to take it out.

1 clear week out of 4 is far from ideal in anyone's book I'm sure and I've given it 8 months, that's plenty of time for it to settle I think

Had it removed yesterday!

As soon as I got up I felt a difference :)

No discharge today either - the nurse took some swabs so just waiting for the results.
