I had a coil put in just a couple of hours ago then for some ridiculoud reaon googled it. Of course horror stories of horrific cramps and bleeding. I didnt really feel anything when she did it and she said the insertion was "very easy".
So im sitting here panicking that im about to start getting severe pains or gushing blood now!

I am on my period anyway (was told to have it fitted now)so obviously am bleeding in any case but i cant feel anything out of the ordinary at all...

If you have this can you tell me when did any effects like that hit you?

I didn't have any cramps that I can remember, or any initial heavy bleeding, but I bled more or less constantly for 5 months. Not heavy bleeding, but irritating nonetheless. I was told that it could take 6 months for the bleeding to stop, but I'd had enough by that time and had it taken out.

Hopefully you'll get on with it better than I did!

I had cramping the first day or so and then it was fine. I have had occasional spotting and a 2 day period but apart from that have not been bleeding at all. It may have helped that I was on the mini-pill just before getting the mirena so the lining of the womb was already thinned down. No bad effects so far at all (have had it for just over 2 months)

I had one put in 2 weeks ago.

Quite bad cramps afterwards (but I had a biopsy prior to coil fitting)

Bled on the day I had it fitted. Spotted the next day. Spotted today.

Considering I was bleeding every week and a half before its been good for me so far but its early days.

Was really surprised to see the blood this morning actually! I had no pain/cramps prior at all!!

I am on my second one, first lasted 5 years, second one was more painful to remove/fit but I love it. No periods except very occasional spotting, no cramps, no stress. Recommend to everyone.
