Complicated planning for kids in the future

I'm not planning on having anymore kids for a few years yet but have been talking to my gp & neurologist about it. I have catamenial epilepsy (fits occur days before, during and days after period) I'm on the depo jab because it stops me producing so much of one hormone & anti epileptic drugs. I've been told I need to plan for children 2 years ahead just so new meds for epilepsy can be tested to get the right balance. But...being on the depo for nearly 3 years means it can take longer than 2 years to even concieve because my periods need to regulate again. How on earth do I get around this? Now I feel like I should look into having children once I've moved next month just to be on the safer side that I can live without the depo, but I'm scared to come off the depo because I could have a continuous flow of bleeding for a year & more fits. Ok granted the depo doesn't full on stop the fits but I have symptoms of a period coming on & it's then that I sometimes have a fit.

I have nothing helpful to add other than to say I got pregnant 7 weeks after my last depo jab ran out having been on it fir 4 years so all is not lost from that point if view (disclaimer being that I know everyone's different, it was just my experience)
