My daughter aged 5 has just started gymnastics lessons and she wants a leotard like the other girls. Can anyone recommend what sort of leotard to get and where from?

Thanks
Michelle

Do you know what style they wear , some clubs have a specific one and they don't come cheap. Otherwise you could try a dance shop.

Our gym sells their own, but amazon or ebay would prob be cheapest option....

There isn't a specific one at her gymnastics class - a number of the other little girls already have leotards so now she wants one!

Just not sure what to get.

There's a difference between gymnastics and dance leotards but a lot of the younger girls at my daughters gymnastics do wear dance ones. Dance leotards tend to have higher legs and be lower cut.

This site is good for specific gymnastic ones www.the-zone.co.uk/

AS a coach I would say it is important for them to be in leotards ASAP.In shorts and T shirt you can't see their lines properly and you can't grip them easily when supporting. At my club all girls have to have leotards after 4 weeks at the latest and finally above all .TIE BACK HER HAIR!! You wouldn't believe the number of girls who turn up with loose hair down to their shoulders!! I give out dozens of hair bobbles!!

Does your club sell second hand ones? Otherwise I'd go for ebay - I've bought new ones from ebay sellers and been very happy.

Ebay all the way.

The big British names are Milano or the Zone, but I refuse to pay their prices.

My DD does gym (18+ hours a week), so has lots of leotards. I find the unbranded ones fine, but we have quite a few snowflake leotards (American brand) and I find them really good quality, and you can buy them from £20.

Alternatively, I have also used this site www.wholesaledance.co.uk/categories/gym_sale_items&&special_offers.php

which sells basic gym leotards from £12 + p&p.
