I have one quietly chuffed lad here. he's managed to get into the schools symphony orchestra!

this in itself is great, but I also hope means that he's managed to conquer his performance anxiety/ catastrophising mindset that he seemed to develop after a terrible audition last time he tried.

dd2s audition for her Saturday ensemble isn't in yet.
I think she's not too bothered as staying where she is isn't a bad choice ( top outs one set of ensembles rather than progressing her second instrument if that makes sense! )

why the rolly eyes magicbaguette?

some of my friends on here have been really supportive about ds and his nerves in the past. sorry If sharing his success isn't what I'm supposed to post as well.

I know it's just not british to be pleased when things go well :-)

Well done to your ds. I know how difficult it is to watch your child suffer from anxiety. Thanks

Sorry - I have no idea what happened there, that was supposed to be on a different thread! Blush

Well done to your DS Theas

Is he the DS who would have done rugby instead?

Theas18 · 20/06/2013 21:21

yes raspberry you are right. he hasn't mentioned out yet.... but the orchestra is very efficient, they have sent lots of paperwork, including info about a tour.

he'll no doubt have times when he's a bit "grr no rugby" , but his track record of injury isn't good. orchestra is safer lol

Ah, well done to your ds. It couldn't have been easy conquering his anxiety. It sounds like a good orchestra too, he gets to go on tour, bonus.

Well done Theas DS.
DD2 gets very nervous in ballet exams. In stage is fine, but examiners scare her.

DD1 just stands up and sings, she only gets nervous singing to us. A church full of people at a formal concert doesn't phase her at all. She has her grade 5 singing on Monday, I've heard no practice, but she's been hard at work with her teacher.
