DD is interested in auditioning for this in January.
Anyone's DC been involved?
It mentions being involved in shows all over the country and there being a residential element.
Is this in the school holidays or term time commitment?

DD is at a very strict grammar school that would not allow time off during term time.

Anyone got any info?

TIA

I'm considering letting dd audition. A friend was in it when she was younger.

The residential courses are in holiday time

Dd goes to a selective independent school but has no problems getting time off for panto/musicals etc though.

Most commitment would be holiday time.

It's a huge honour to get in.

I would be astounded if the school didn't love the honour enough to give her the odd day off if it was absolutely necessary.

If your daughter is good enough you simply must let her go for it.

Incidentally it wouldn't be up the school whether they allowed time off if a child is involved in a performance requiring time off school. It's the education welfare officer who decides though they take the opinion if the head into account but legally they have to have strong valid reasons for refusal.

Thanks- not sure if she is good enough but regularly chosen for youth productions locally and at school where she is on the G and T list for drama.

I've been looking at the forms. Don't think we can afford the course fees.
