How many EC activities does your 7yo do?

DD currently does Rainbows (on waiting list for Brownies!), gymnastics, dodgeball and swimming. I'd like her to learn an instrument - but will that too many classes? How many do your DCs do, and do you think that's enough/too much/too little? Thanks!

imo it depends on the child. ds' school recommends 3 session of ec activities are more then plenty. However at 6 ds has french club, swimming, hockey every week and then every fortnight fishing, golf and sometimes skiing. He is however a high energy child who is often up late with excess energy to burn. Other children in his class struggle ith french and kirate (sp).

You know your child. how tired is she with the current activites? However, although it would be nice unless she is really interested in learning an instrument, i personally would leave it for now.

My 7 y.o DD does three sorts of dance (across two days of the week), plus a sports club based at her school once a week.

She used to do Brownies as well, but it was all getting a bit much and she didn't really care about it, so we dropped it.

My DD is the sort of child that thrives on joining in with things and having lots of extra interests. However, one of the limiting factors is that I have two other children and so I have to give consideration to how much time they spend each week traipsing around after their sister (hence why the Brownies was dropped).
