What do little boys wear to a ballet class?

I've signed ds2 up for baby ballet. He's 3 and very keen on the idea, but I have no idea what he should wear. I want to give it a couple of weeks to see whether he likes it before buying him shoes and stuff, but what should he wear in the meantime? Trackies? Leggings? Slippers? Some advice would be welcome. Thanks: )

T Shirt tracksuit and plimsoles. Shoes will be taken care of properly when you arrive and are relived of all your cash :) Plimsoles would be fine for now.

I think they wear things like white T shirt, shorts, and tend to have black ballet shoes.

Enjoy!

Boys at the DDs ballet school wear White Tshirts, black shorts and black ballet shoes. I'd start with plimsolls shirts and tshirt personally unless the school says otherwise

There was a boy in DDs baby ballet class for a couple of terms.

I'd put him in a tshirt and trackies. Not too loose.

T-shirt, cycling shorts, ankle socks. That's what the boys I've seen at ballet (admittedly a rare species) have been wearing, anyway.

Mine wore white t shirts, blue shorts and white ballet shoes. Then moved on to white leotard with blue lycra shorts over. Think it depends on the ballet school.

Put him in shorts or leggings the teacher needs to see his knees and feet
Hope he enjoys it
I have always loved ballet Grin

He can have bare feet while he's trying it out.
My DS did ballet from age 3 to 8 or 9 and got to grade 2, but that class clashed with Cubs so he swapped to Jazz dance. He's now 11 and loves it to bits. We always called it dance and not ballet to avoid ignorant comments. It's the Dad who seem most opposed to boys doing ballet.

Tabby, thats great, my ds started ballet at age five, but I wish he had done baby ballet.
I'd have a chat with his teacher and ask about what to wear, my ds started with ballet shoes and just a plain tee shirt and shorts.
Wears a leotard and tights nowGrin!

My little boy wears white leotard, blue (tight) shorts, white socks (well, actually they're usually grey striped from where he's rolled on the floor in) and white ballet shoes. He has a ballet sweatshirt to wear if he's cold.
He loves it as he wants to be with his sisters, although he was a little worried that his shoes didn't work when he first started and he tried stamping, as he thought they were tap shoes Grin

To start out T shirt and shorts or snug fit leggings/ tracksuit trews. Talk to teacher about ballet shoes, pumps will do for first lesson or maybe bare feet if teacher says so.
My lad started out in shorts and Ts and borrowed pink ballet shoes.

Boy is now nearly 5 and about to move up a class, he wears white polo shirt ( his school shirt TBH) and black tracksters and black ballet shoes.

Boys' uniform at DD's ballet class is white tshirt, navy shorts and black ballet shoes. He'll be fine with bare feet for the first few lessons until you decide to buy shoes.
