can anyone tell me if Brownie leaders and helpers have to be CRB checked please?

its just that dd went to brownies for the first time last night and reading through the info i was given it doesn't specifically say that the leaders are crb checked. what it does say is that they have child protection policies.

Yes, we absolutely have to be CRB checked, it is part of the induction process for becoming a guider. Regular helpers are also CRB checked though a parent helper who only helps once a term or so does not HAVE to be although many of them will be.

Again yes all leaders and all regular helpers will have CRB checks, occasional helpers ( such as parents on a rota) do not, but should not be in situations where they are alone with children.

Yep, we fill in CRB forms as soon as we walk through the door as volunteers.
