DS1 just started air cadets....has to have his long hair cut off though!

I'm surprised he's joining as his hair's his pride and joy. I took him there tonight to enrol and they told him he has to go short. His face was a picture Grin I did warn him though but don't think he realised how strict it is. He's only dabbled in scouts before.

He's really keen though which is good. We only just moved to this area so it's great for him to meet new people.

Is anyone else's dcs in the air cadets? I'm pretty excited for him tbh. And even more excited by the fact they teach them to do chores Grin

DS is thinking about cadets too. The closest is a sea cadets group. I'll take him a Sunday morning to check it out. No mention of hair styles on their website (his hair is long and curly but I think he'd go short). He's nearly 11. How old is yours?

DS1 is nearly 13 which is minimum age for air cadets. Hope your ds likes sea cadets I've heard that's good too.
I think it's a great thing for them to do. It looks good on their cv when their older too as they do academic courses. Not sure if ds1 fancies the RAF just yet but you never know?

Oh, I don't want this to be a long-term passion for DS, not keen on it myself. Just something to replace Woodcraft Folk which he grew out of lately.

Seems the dcs stick at it though? Never heard of woodcraft folk? Ds1 is into xbox etc... so am glad he's got something else now. Although to be fair he is active and does read a lot Smile
