I'm overweight with at least 3 stone to lose. I've lost 1st since starting to try and improve my diet after Easter but its slllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwww.
One of my problems is lack of exercise, I find it hard to make time to get out for a good walk, or go to class but I saw the following workout program on Pinterest and it seemed do-able if I get up before the kids;

Stretch
1 x 30 Elbow Plank
30 x Knee Extensions (15 each side)
20 x Tummy Thrust and Holds
20 x Bicep Curls with 500g weight (10 each side)
20 x Tricep Curls with 500g weight (10 each side)
30 x Lunges (15 each side)
30 x Squats
Stretch

So I know this won't hurt except my aching thighs! but will it help speed up my weight loss?
Or is this type of thing just for toning up and really I need to get my arse out the door for some cardio?

Strengthening exercises help, but cardio will help too and really the main thing that helps with weight loss is diet (sorry). I use MFP to count calories and also there's a circuit training app called Sworkit that you can input your own exercise programme and it syncs to MFP.

Or you could have a look at the 30 day shred, the first part is on youtube if you want to try before you buy. It's only 20 mins long so should be easy enough to fit into your day (or get the kids to join in, my DDs love doing it).

Level 2 of 30 day shred is also on You Tube.

Thanks for the replies - think I'll take a look at The Shred then and see how I get on.
I have used MFP in the past but need to get back on it and log religiously!

There was a thread in the diet forum that people posted their MFP usernames on if you need to add people as friends. I find it makes a real difference having people to support you.
