Ok getting back into running after about 6 months off. Generally woke up yesterday and realised I do no exercise my diet is shit and I need to change. So first run of week 1 of C210k done today, signed up for 10k in September as motivation. However as I had to write running before due to injury I want to make sure I do a variety of things to help.

So decided to start using free (slightly limited) gym in work, so was planning C210k 3 times a week then 3 days in gym with 15 mins on rowing machine and 15 mins on bike. Then I was planning on visit to local pool another day to improve my swimming (I'm useless)

How does that sound???

i would ditch the running machine and do twice as much cycling. There is more technique to rowing on a machine than riding a bike, and you'll get the cardio benefits from the bike.

That said, you need to push it a bit. I am always amazed by the people who hop on a bike for 15 mins, don't break into a sweat, and hop to the next thing. That will do very little. Do you have any local spin classes instead? It will be hard at first but you'll see way more results. Or else Sufferfest cycling videos on your smartphone are hard but you'll see a big difference in your fitness (in my experience it will help your running too).

If your swimming is lacking technique, a good instructor will improve things far more than you could on your own.
