I've done a couple of beginner classes with the local kettlebell club and I think I'm getting addicted Grin. I have been practicing my form at home, watching YouTube and I really can't wait for the next class. I really want to get some for home once I've got the form sorted.

Tell me I'm not alone in getting this hooked.

Just me then Grin.

Another class today and I'm graduating to the proper classes now. Really excited.

I did indeed Grin. Thank you for popping over though and making me less of a Norma no mates Smile.

Looking forward to starting the proper classes then I'm planning to get some bells for home use when I know what weights to get. The teacher today recommended I start with a 10kg and 12kg (the classes are a lot of strength, so low reps high weights).

Do you do classes or at home, or both?

I work our at home. I did go to a class to learn the correct techniques but it was far too busy and I didn't enjoy it. I have a couple of DVDs. There's a Paul Katami one called Kettlebell for Beginners that has a lot of information on technique but I use it more for ab work than for strength. Then I have Bob Harper's Sculpted Body and that is pretty intense. It's 50 minutes and it's a great workout but you really need to know what you're doing as the model Bob uses doesn't look like she's used a kettlebell before and at the start her swing squats aren't done correctly, she pops her hips forwards.

Love them. There's some fab workouts on youtube.
I got some great results using mine especially to my core and pelvic floor :)
Unfortunately though I have a back problem which decided it wanted to be a twat so my poor little kettle bell is quite lonely, sitting in the corner, for the time being.

Well I've ordered two from the club- a 10kg and a 12kg. I'll probably devise my own routines with a mix of strength and cardio.

Sorry about your back Carbe, fingers crossed you'll be swinging your bell again soon Smile.

Did my first proper class tonight, really enjoyed it. I can certainly feel that my muscles have done a good workout!

Well done - it gets addictive :)
You very quickly get stronger too, like physically feel that you can lift/carry quite heavy things were before you would struggle.
Keep up the good work and have a few swings for me :)

Another class, managed a lot of stuff with a 12kg! I think I might be sore tomorrow.

Update- still going once a week to class and still really really loving it. I change my kettle bell order to 12 kg and 14 kg and I'm really pleased I did. For exercises where I need to go a bit lighter I just use my dumbbells. I feel like I'm getting better results but doing a bit less work really.
