Anyone fancy a new Insanity thread?

I'm going to start err soon ... Ordered it last night so hopefully it'll be here early next week.

Ill record everything on here to keep me accountable and it'd be great to have some company if anyone fancies giving it a go with me?

As for me , I'm not overweight - 9 stone 13 and size 8/ 10 but I'm really really super unfit and untoned. My tummy is not good ( understatement ) after two kids and I could probably fly to turkey with my bingo wings : /

So - my goals ... To tone up and build some muscle. To maybe drop half a stone or ten lbs. To reach some sort of level of fitness.

That'll do for now

Hi Cressida, I've already started doing it. In fact, Monday is the start of month 2 for me. It definitely helps to have an accountability partner (I have one on FB), and if nobody else joins the thread I don't mind helping spur you on Smile

I'm actually pretty much the same as you, quite skinny apart from the tummy area (3 DC to thank for that), I'm not following the nutrition guide so unfortunately that hasn't changed much yet. Although, you can definitely see some serious abs taking shape, just need to shift the podge. And the bingo wings are no more thanks to all the push-ups Grin

And fitness has definitely improved, will put my results in the next post. Good Luck!

Wow - you've made some great progress! Thanks for the message, be great to hear how you get on.

I'm going to buy some trainers today (I've managed to live life quite nicely without a pair for ages now : ) ) and a yoga type mat. The impact on my knees worries me and I read that it's full of jumping about so I shall do said leaping on a mat to minimise injuries. To go from lying on my sofa to something as full on as this is making me a little nervous Grin

So you can definitely see results in yourself then ?

Hi, I have almost finished week 6 and while I find that my actual fitness has vastly improved I have actually put on weight (not just muscle as my jeans and bra are a bit tight). I was 5:2ing but couldn't do it and exercise and I just get so hungry that I find it hard to control my eating. I am not overweight, but it is depressing to know that I could have a Tanya-like body by now if I could just step away from the cake! I have bought some protein shakes to see if this helps.

I think my DVDs will be here on Monday or Tuesday . I've got my exercise may ready - trainers to sort now then I'm good to go!

Hmmm .. Weight gain you say? Could this be muscle weight? That could account for a lb or two. I usually eat moderate carb stuff, very little snacking and I watch my calorie intake - usually come in at 1200/1300 a day. I have one day off a week and eat a lot of cake then. But usually - I'm a 'light' eater. Will I have to eat a lot more then to keep energy levels up?

You've done amazing to get to week 6. I'll be lucky to see day 2

I think have put on some muscle but not 1.5kg worth! I normally don't snack but just get constant carb cravings with this, which I have never had when training for half marathons or other exercise routines. I do feel fit and strong though. Once I finish the program I think I will try and do less days of insanity and try and fit in 2 fasting days again.

Subbing to join in - plan is to start my second go at Insanity in Monday. I lost 3 stone the first time I did it, want to tone more and get some muscles this time!

Oh great Woodward ! Mine is being delivered on Monday according to an email I just received so ill start then too! Be great to compare . Three stone?! Wow!!! I'd be seriously happy with half a stone - when I get near 9 stone i start to look gaunt but 9 st 7 would be fab. What were you eating ? Had you really cut down? Or just pure Shaun T? Grin

Rus - I'm not fit. At all. Honestly - I do NOTHING at all. My first results will be the poorest ones ever recorded. I just intend to give it my best shot. Join us!

I shall be joining you tomorrow with doing the fit test. Dreading it almost!

I'm going to aim to follow it to the letter but I reckon whatever you can do is enough. I shall try!

Switch do you count each one or 2 feet as 1? So 90 or 45 lol
Power jack 37
Power knees 65
Power jumps 30
Globe jumps 8
Suicide 11
Push ups ( cant do push ups!!)'24 just legs holding plank
Plank oblique 60 singles or 30 sets ( both legs)

Shock thought you said you weren't fit! Well done. Switch kicks are counted for each leg and obliques are per set.

Sorry rusmum I got that wrong yesterday, just done the third fit test and it says on the card switch kicks are per set and obliques are per leg. Just going to the max interval then I'll post my results.

I'm dead

Fucking hell - the fit test just about finished me off . My form is shit, I'm pretty slow and the sweat was pouring off me. I'm recovering in the bath now so don't have my results to hand but ill post them later on tonight. They're suitably bloody embarrassing but that's my whole reason for doing this... I'm very unfit . Actually - no fitness level at all really. I'm proof that you can be a normal weight and that doesn't really mean anything. All I could feel was my stomach I attractively wobbling as I leapt about. Oh and the backing track of my youngest saying ' mummy I can see that your muscles are better already! ' and ' you're doing that wrong ! Grin

Switch kicks 115
Power jacks 50
Power knees 104
Power jumps 50
Globe jumps 10
Suicide jumps 15
Push ups (can't do jacks) 28
Low plank oblique 49

Switch kicks is each kick, not per set IYSWIM. Was going to put 'hate these' after them, but realised I hate them all! Globe jumps are my enemy.
