I have been doing the shred for the last 10 days and have been really impressed with my progress, as I am a very unfit size 18.

For the last few days I have had pain and swelling my right arm. After a trip to the doctor it turns out I have aggravated and old injury and on anti-inflammatories Sad. He has recommended no more shred or any other DVD that involves weights, press-up etc for a while and i continue physio exercise.

Can anyone recommend a DVD that does not need a lot of upper body strength. I really want to get fit and tone up. I also don't want to stop now as it might take me years to build up the will power to start again.

Hi :)

I'm no exercise dvd expert but I do Natalie Cassidy's dvd and you could just stick to the sweat section (which is a fairly intense workout) and leave out the arm movements of which there aren't that many.

Hopefully somebody else can offer you some better advise soon !

I weirdly loved Patsy Palmers dance based DVD

I have recently dragged my extremely very old NYC ballet vid out, you could do floor barre and stuff like that? There is probably a better, newer version out now

You could try the C25k instead of fitness vids - only takes 10 mins at first and you might find you get into running and never want to go back!

I really like the 10 minute solutions pilates perfect body. It's good for toning and working on your core and posture. There are some arm exercises but you could just skip those I guess!

Davina Fit.

Mostly lower body and core work.

You may find it tame after Shred, but it does work.
