Exercise

Fitness activities that don't require the use of feet?

I severely injured my foot a few months ago Sad and it's still recovering.

So my usual form of exercise- heaps of walking and running and cycling- is out. At present, too much walking in a day leaves me limping the next. Ditto with cycling. Haven't even attempted running. Cycling leaves me in a lot of pain the next day.

Without exercise I'm just feeling all blah and wobbly. So what can I do to keep fit?

So fair I have sit ups and squats. Push-ups are out as they strain my foot too much.

I was thinking simple yoga exercises as they're not so high-impact. Does anyone have a recommendation for a YouTube yoga tutorial or DVD I could buy?

Or any ideas for other home exercises I could be doing?

Pilates. Joseph Pilates perfected a lot of the exercises while working in New York with injured ballet dancers ....

That and lots of yoga can be done seated or lying - and is surprisingly hard

and for normal work out , get a swiss ball and two tins of beans and try the permutations ...

Could you swim or would that be too much for your foot even though it's not a weight bearing sport?
