Starting running-what do I wear?

Obviously trainers! But I'm not sure what else will make me feel a bit less silly than I'm worried about, but equally not like someone who has "all the gear but no idea"!
Problem is, I'll need a sports bra but I'm at least 32gg/h and I'm size 16 on a good day.
I hope that doesn't mean running is a totally bad idea and would like some help with what to wear without shelling out too much. I've got a plan to follow - just need the basic kit and I hope I'll be off.

Sports Bra is the most important thing after trainers, so make sure you invest in one hat supports you and is comfortable. I don't know what size Sweaty Betty go up to but I really like their running bras.

Apart from that thin tracky bums (not the heavy thick ones that will just make you overheat and swet lots, more the ones made out of t-shirt material), and a t-shirt or vest top and t-shirt will be fine at first.

You might want to get some technical tops if oyu are going to do it regularly, as they don't get wet with sweat and keep you warmer if it's cold weather and cooler if it's hot. You can get some quite cheaply from mountain warhouse.

Good luck and have fun!

I'm a similar size to you and like te shock absorber run bra. Here about £30, but you'll feel less silly if you're secure, and line hurt if they're not strapped down properly!

To start with, a good sports bra and trainers should do you. Leave it a kith or so before you spend any more money, but sports direct is great to tops, running tights, day glow gloves for winter nights etc.

Yes, a good sports bra is a must! I've got a shock absorber too, in 30GG and find running really comfortable, there's little to no bounce.

Other gear, you can spend as little or as much as you like. You can get running gear really cheaply now from Sports Direct or from supermarkets. Hi-vis stuff is a good idea if you're running on the road.

Sports direct is fab. They have some Nike vests in at the moment that are really long for £8 and they wash well. I got some Nike and Puma capris too

Two bras is the answer. I feel happiest with normal industrial underwired bra under sports bra. Never found a sports bra I really like and that gives really good support.
