Gym classes for parents and children

Hi everyone, I was hoping you could help me with a project I'm doing as part of my degree which involves developing a business idea.

Basically, I have come up with the idea of creating fitness classes that will allow parents and children to work out together at the same time. The classes, would be focused more on parents having fun with their children than it would the fitness aspect.

One of the reasons I wanted to do this as my project is because I have always hated the fact that most activities for kids leaves the parents sat at the side bored and waiting for them to finish when this could be time spent having fun together.

So, as parents would it interest you to do activities like this with your children, and if so what activities would you like to do with them? Would fitness classes like dance, Zumba, boxing, or even sports day activities (like 3 legged race) interest you? Are there any other things you would like to be able to do?

If you would, how often would you do these sorts of activities (weekly, monthly)? And what would you expect to pay?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nicole

I think this is a great idea and would certainly attend these classes twice a week with my 5year old daughter! Zumba, dance would be really fun and energetic...not sur about prices though as have never attended classes.Good luck!!

I think that this sounds like a great idea - parents' free time is so scarce, it would be nice to build in parents' fitness with children's hobbies. I think that variety in each class would be good - some dance, some aerobics and some yoga/ tai chi/ Pilates maybe? I also like the idea of sack races, three legged races, but maybe not something you would do every week?

In the summer, it could be done outdoors- in parks perhaps?

Price-wise, would depend on your area and the cost of permits/facilities hire. I would pay £10 - £15 for parent and child.

Good luck!
