Can I run a Half Marathon?

I'm meant to be doing the Bath Half in two weeks time.

I took up running on turning 40 last June having never run before and am loving it. I have built up my mileage gradually-ish. Over the last two weeks I have managed three 8 mile, one 9 mile and one 10 mile runs. After the 10 mile run I felt like I had no miles left in me Hmm but the other runs felt fine. I do have a few small walking breaks on each run but am ok about that.

I'm not super fast I just want to complete the course (and not be last).

Honestly, do I stand a chance of doing it?

Yep. I managed the Great North Runhaving only done 8 miles in training. I got a kidney infection a month beforehand which stopped me training.

I took it steady and there were still approx 10,000 people behind me.

Good luck!

Yes you'll be fine. I did one and the furthest I'd run was 9miles. The crowds and atmosphere will get you through, it's amazing what your body is capeable of.
