Do I leave them on the top part, or should I just get them going on the top then cook them in the oven?
It's just that the top seems inefficient and cools down after a while.

It's a woodburning Rayburn which also does all our rads and hot water. I love it. smile

Hmmm. I thought there might not be an instant take up on this.

Put them in a pan covered with water and let them sit overnight on the coolest bit of the Rayburn. They will be perfectly cooked by the morning.

Or put them in a casserole dish with lid and plenty water to cover them) then cook them for about 1 1/2 hours ( I think) on a medium heat.

envy at your woodburning one. Ours is off now as it was being dodgy (oil) and it is difficult to get a plumber to come out to the sticks. I miss it being on.

I'm wondering if you soaked them for 24 hours first? Then you cook them for ages and ages.

I think I was impatient and didn't soak them for long enough. In the end I boiled them and boiled them and boiled them then gave up and put them in the food processor al dente. It doesn't seem to have mattered. The humous tastes great though I say so meself. grin

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
