I've just 'ordered' my Christmas cards this year and am feeling smugly satisfied with the whole process.

Not only have I saved a few trees (or twigs at least) by sending e-cards this year but 121% of what I paid for them will be going to the charity I chose (The Dogs Trust). They're also due to electronically wing their way on the date I chose - 18th December.

I'm sending them through www.everyclick.com which I've been using for ages and is now much more than just a search engine that gives 50% to charity. It does justgiving-like sponsorship pages now too (which I tried for my half marathon attempt!).

It took me a couple of goes to work out how to do it so I'll give you some clues:
1. go to Everyclick Christmas and have a read.
2. Then you can search for a charity by entering the name in the search box at the top of the page and clicking 'charities' (if you just click the 'send greetings' button it'll ask you to search for a charity anyway).
3. on the charity's page select 'send Christmas greetings' from the drop down box then fill in the form.
4. I think the minimum donation is £5 but you can send as many cards as you like. Don't forget to Gift Aid it then 121% of your donation will go to your charity.

I'm still sending 'proper' cards to close family members I won't be with on Christmas day but this will work well for all my friends!

Jenx

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
