...for a dolly or teddy!

Have just invented the sock outfit, unless it has been done many times before, in which case I have reinvented it. It looks great on a doll/teddy about 1/2 the size of a newborn baby if that makes sense.

Bodysuit: Cut little holes where big toe and little toe go for the teddy's leg holes, then cut two arm holes roughly where your ankle joints go. Original opening in sock is the neck hole. That's it- all your trendy ted will need on a hot day.

Jumper: For colder days, cut off the toe of the old sock to create a tube, then make two slits in the middle, one to go round the teddy's tummy, the other to go over its head.

Hat- To complete the outfit, simply slip another sock over the head for a stylish wee willie winkie hat.

Preferably use clashing colours and textures for maximum fashionista effect.

Anyone get the feeling I have been hanging about the house with a toddler for a little too long?

My grandmother used to make barbie doll dresses with the top of the sock as the body of the dress and would use pretty fabric for the skirt. It worked especially well with socks that had pretty tops with lace. But the point is even though it's been done before, you still thought of it on your own.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
