I got a job before Christmas, whilst waiting to do my childminding training. It was only meant to be for over Christmas. However I was kept on for a few months, and my current contract expires on the 29th March. Due to me having to take holidays and my manager being ill and on holidays, yesterday wa shte first day I had seen her in weeks. She never said anything aobut me staying on. She never spoke to me much either, obviously in a mood about something.
SO I can legally walk out on friday when its my last day and not go back? Am I right?
If they do keep me on, then they would need to accomodate the school holidays, as I have no one to look after the Dses, so is there any obligation for them to offer me unpaid leave etc?

There is no obligation for them to allow you to work term time with unpaid leave for the school holidays. Childcare problems are not the employers concern and there are not that many firms who can afford the staff to be off for a 1/3rd of the year.

If your contract ends 29th March and hasn't been extended then yes you dont go back.
