Help - I have to work in a team with someone I actively distrust, how do I cope?

We have recently all been moved around and now I have to work very closely with someone I have never really trusted or got on with. We have worked in the same dept for 2 years but never so closely before.

In fact I actively distrust her as i know she will say one thing and do another; in meetings we have been in she will ignore my suggestions, agree with them but never implement them or be actively antagonistic to me. She can be very unpredictable too - some weeks chatting away merrily about her kids others completely ignoring me for days. As long as she is in control / has the balance of power it is fine but try and say anything against her and she either shouts it down or ignores it and it all becomes too much to be bothered with!

I would almost say it is bullying except all references to that seem to be bosses, and we are the same 'grade'.

My boss knows how I feel but there is little option but for us to be working closely together and I am really not sure how to handle this situation / her - normally I would avoid her at all costs!

Please help with ideas on how to handle her whilst keeping my sanity!

Bullying isn't just a employer/employee thing, anyone can be a bully. Document everything. Is your boss aware that bullying is a criminal offence? Is there a human resource department?
